ActuallyFree.info tries to act as a watchdog for spam and scams. Many of the sites listed on ActuallyFree.info are either personally tried and tested or they are checked with a reliable third-party resource. When a reliable reference isn't available, Actually Free will sometimes perform an experiment. The results of the experiment are posted here for everyone's benefit and safety.

Experiment: Get paid to store and share files - Testing still in progress

Users can download files for free. All sites are checked with Site Advisor for safety. When or if ActuallyFree.info reaches the payout limit then a report will be published on whether the sites actually pay out or not. This has been hard to test since no visitors to the site have downloaded the free ebook. I have to reach the payout limit before seeing if they will actually send the payment. 11/12/11

Get points for recycling and redeem them for free samples, discounts, coupons or charity. Recycle bank has been checked with Site Advisor and BBB.org. It has been verified as a way to get freebies that are actually free.

Experiment: Get Paid to Drive Your Car with Free Car Media - Testing still in progress.

Free Car Media is a service that matches drivers with advertisers. When drivers offer their cars for wrapped advertisements they essentially get paid to drive. An account has been opened with Free Car Media and an offer to drive through a downtown metropolitan area for up to two hours a day during rush hour. So far Free Car Media has not offered any jobs. After about 2 months I emailed them asking if there was any way to improve chances of being matched but no reply has been received. Free Car Media has a good report with site advisor and BBB.org. 11/12/11.
