A quick way to get cash is by recycling. This page lists some resources that may be helpful. Local second hand stores may also buy some of these items and you can always sell stuff online. • Search the Yellow Pages for local "recycling centers". Check with each to see what they take and what they pay for.

• Some states pay 5-10 cents per can. These states will be indicated somewhere on the can. Other states will pay per pound.

• Recycle Bank is a program that weighs your recycle bin and pays you by weight. They know its your bin by the barcode. Its only currently available in select cities but they're expanding.

• UsedCardboardBoxes.com will pay you for your used cardboard boxes if you have 5,000 boxes or more.

• BoxCycle.com provides a medium for people to buy and sell used boxes to each other. You can sell your box and others will buy because it's cheaper than buying them new from a moving store. All boxes must meet their minimum required standards.
