Back to Free MoneyStart Your Own Non-profit for Fundraising
Free Money for Non-Profits.
One way to get free money is to start your own non-profit organization. Of course if you're just looking for free cash for yourself, just because you want it, this may not be a worthy endeavour. But if you need money for a worthy cause then it might make sense to start the non-profit, pay the fees upfront, about $100, and then tap into the sources that will help you do the fundraising*.
To start a non-profit call the IRS and your state and ask for the office that registers non-profit organizations. Fill out the paperwork and send it in along with the fee. They'll send it back to you and tell you how to correct the mistakes. Then you resend it*. Once you start a non-profit organization you can use the following resources to help you find sources for fundraising:
FastTrackFundraising.com - "We have worked with thousands of schools, sports teams, churches, and non-profit organizations nationwide. Let us help you reach your fundraising goals!" Not tested by ActuallyFree.info.
The Foundation Center* - "The Foundation Center is a national nonprofit service organization recognized as the nation's leading authority on organized philanthropy, connecting nonprofits and the grantmakers." Not tested by ActuallyFree.info.
Guidestar* - "Why are we so passionate about nonprofit information? Because the best possible decisions are made when donors, funders, researchers, educators, professional service providers, governing agencies, and the media use the quality information that we provide."
